Welcome to our website, a home for precision target rifle shooters 

You have reached the home of the Alpine Precision Rifle Club.

We are a NSW registered target shooting Club (No. 405 825 318) being the target shooting division of the Alpine Hunting, Shooting & Fishing Club Pty Ltd.  We are an Australian target rifle shooting organisation based in Sydney primarily shooting at Anzac Rifle Range - Malabar.

We shoot field rifle, full bore, F Class and High Power Matches plus we have our own training programme  - 'Precision Rifle 5'.  

Precision Rifle 5 is a program designed to keep rifle shooters at the highest level of marksmanship performance.  This training programme primarily uses scoped commercial bolt action rifles in all positions and it is designed keep shooters at expert level of precision shooting.

We are affiliated with MDRA1 and NSWRA

If you have what it takes to become or remain a 'master grade' rifle shooter then you are welcome to join us for Precision Rifle 5 qualification.  Once you qualify you can use our diploma qualification - that being PR5. 

Shoot with us soon and see if you can make the grade.

We also compete in Australian State and National level competitions in various regional centres.  We would love to see you on the National Tour soon.

WHAT IS THE PRECISION RIFLE 5 PROGRAMME?

  • We shoot centre fire rifles at 100, 200 and 300 metres.
  • We shoot rim firm rifles at 30, 50 and 90 metres
  • We cover the following five positions:
    1. Bi-Pod (or low position rest)
    2. Prone (lying down)
    3. Sitting
    4. Kneeling (100-200 only)
    5. Standing (100-200 only)

We have our own targets and scoring system.

Our main 100 metre qualification match is as follows:

The Target 'X' (10.1) is an inner circle 4.5 cm in diameter. 

The outer limit is an 18.5 cm diameter circle scoring 6

Example Course of Fire

  1. 3 rounds in 3 minutes from Bi Pod.
  2. 4 rounds in 4 minutes prone (lying down on elbows)
  3. 5 round rapid in 30 seconds from standing bolt open to prone.
  4. 4 rounds in 4 minutes sitting.
  5. 6 round cumulative snap 3-6-9 seconds 1-2-3 rounds sitting.
  6. 5 round rapid in 30 seconds from standing bolt open to sitting.
  7. 4 rounds in 4 minutes kneeling.
  8. 4 rounds in 4 minutes standing. (off hand no sling)
